Seasonal Property Safety Checklist

• Test smoke alarms at least monthly or each time you return to seasonal home.   

• Develop & practise an escape plan.  

• Clean Barbecues before using them.    

• Check Heating appliances & chimney before using them.    

• Burn candles in sturdy candleholders.       

• Check with Dept Natural Resources to determine weather open fires are permitted.
